About Us

Welcome to the About page of Kisumu Initiative of People who Use Drugs (KiNPUD). We are a community led organization dedicated to advocating and defending the rights of drug users in Kisumu and the western bloc of Kenya. At KiNPUD we strive to create a society that respects the dignity, health, and human rights of people who use drugs.

Our Vision To see a society where people who use and inject drugs (PWUIDs) are empowered, socially, economically, and health wise.

Our Mission To provide accessibility to healthcare and legal services, harm reduction interventions and social well being of people who use drugs.

Our Values

Empowerment; We believe in the power of empowering people who use drugs to be agents of change in their own lives and communities. We support their active participation in decision-making processes that affect them.

Harm Reduction; We are committed to promoting harm reduction approaches that prioritize the health and well-being of people who use drugs. We advocate for policies and programs that minimize the risks and harms associated with drug use.

Human Rights; We firmly believe in upholding the human rights of people who use drugs. We work to address discrimination, stigma, and social exclusion faced by this marginalized population.

Collaboration; We recognize that achieving our goals requires collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including drug users, community organizations, government agencies, healthcare providers, and other civil society organizations. We actively seek partnerships and collaborations to amplify our impact.

Our Objectives

Advocacy; We engage in advocacy efforts to influence policies and programs that promote the rights and well-being of PWUIDs. We strive to ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes at local, national, and international levels.
